Breathing: why it's important!
Respiration (or breathing) must only take place through the nose, during the day and at night.
No effort or clenching of the lips must be involved.
Breathing through the nose allows the sinuses and the palate to develop properly. The air inhaled is moistened and warmed as it passes through the nose, thus improving its quality.
On the other hand, the narrow palate resulting from mouth breathing often leads to overcrowding of teeth in the upper jaw.
When children breathe in through their mouths their sleep is less restorative, so they may have attention problems and difficulty concentrating during the day.
Blowing and wiping the nose are important.
